Freebies

Don't you love free stuff? I wanted to share some free tools and give-aways with you here. This time of year it helps to know you can still get a few things without paying for them, as budgets are usually depleted!

If you want your students to excel in math - share some of these free math basic fact practice sites with them:

  • XtraMath  http://xtramath.org: A website for children to focus on math fact practice in a fun, interactive way.
  • Fuel the Brain  http://www.fuelthebrain.com: Numerous games, interactives and printables to enhance elementary skills in math, science and language arts.
  • Study Ladder  http://www.studyladder.com: Resources for more than ten subjects, for use in school and at home.
  • Sumdog  http://www.sumdog.com: Free math games for school or home use, including math contests.
Need a good pair of scissors, or a Dental Health kit for each of your students? This is the place to get free stuff for your classroom. Sign up for their daily newsletter to get notices of all the new free stuff right when it posts.

Share My Lesson http://www.sharemylesson.com/
An excellent resource for lesson plans and resource sharing! Right now Share My Lesson is running a deal where the person contributing the most lessons each week wins an iPad!

Federal Resources for Educational Excellence  http://free.ed.gov
This site provides free resources from all government agencies.

Another one of the many "Free Stuff" websites online, this one has a "daily deals" newsletter, a login and a wide range of free items.

It's tough to mention free stuff without mentioning Pinterest! There are tons of educational boards filled with free lesson plans, give-aways, tips, and more. I don't even need to tell you to check out Pinterest, do I?
