Two Helpful Apps

One of our biggest frustrations in the use of the iPads is in not being able to visit websites that utilize flash. I finally learned today of a great new browser that can be installed onto your iPad as a free app. Let me repeat that: a free app!

It comes in the form of Rover, which can be downloaded from the iPad store. Now all of those websites that require flash are accessible to us: Starfall, interactive math activities, and the list goes on and on. I can't wait to get this one installed on all of our iPads so we can increase the number of online internet links we can use!

Another app that I've been raving out is Cloudon. This amazing little app simulates Microsoft Word and Powerpoint, allowing you to create Powerpoint presentations on your iPad. Word documents work fine through Google Apps (well, Google documents), but Powerpoint has been a problem because while you can use it to present, it can't be used create a presentation. Cloudon, which is another free app, appears very similarly to the Microsoft products, so it requires very little training.

It is exciting to add these two apps to our collection and to see how teachers are using them with students.
